Singapore Prize – The Winners of the Government Innovation Award Will Be Honoured at a Gala Dinner on 27 May
Singapore Prize is an exciting sweepstakes that could land you and a guest a seat at the 2025 Singapore Grand Prix! In addition, this prize includes a tour of Singapore that allows participants to experience its vibrant culture and stunning architecture as well as enjoying fabulous live entertainment throughout race weekend.
Singapore residents and permanent residents aged 18 or over who reside in Singapore or permanent residency will have until 23 March to submit their entries. Winners will be notified via email or phone and asked to present proof of identity before being eligible to claim their prize, to prevent fraud and ensure the correct individual receives it.
Singapore has long been known for providing outstanding public services, and this year’s awards recognise six individuals and organisations who have made outstanding contributions to society. Winners will be recognized at an award ceremony on 27 May; each will receive a cash prize of S$25,000 as recognition of their efforts.
This year marks the sixth time these awards have been bestowed, and for the second time at a gala dinner they will be announced. Winners were selected by a panel of judges comprising representatives from government agencies and the private sector after reviewing an extensive shortlist of nominations submitted.
This year’s winners of this year’s awards represent an impressive array of young, talented designers who have excelled in their industries. Not only have they created projects with remarkable innovation and uniqueness, but also significant social impacts; furthermore they have shown extraordinary leadership and commitment to the community. Their designs serve as testament to Singapore’s design professionals showcasing their creative abilities while inspiring other designers to push the limits with their own designs.
Mr Ong made clear during his remarks at the launch of the Government Innovation Award that collaboration between government and business is critical for growth and development, noting that organizations working collaboratively with one another and with public sectors deserve recognition of their hard work. He suggested the award as an avenue to honour their efforts.
As well as offering top prizes, this event also featured a Youth Category to recognize young professionals aspiring to interior design careers. In total, nearly 700 submissions came from 12 different countries for consideration in this year’s competition.
Kishore Mahbubani, chairman of the five-member jury that awarded this year’s prize, commended both authors and submissions on their accessibility to a wider audience. In his speech he noted that Singapore now faces challenges not so much from economic or security factors but from building a sense of national identity; therefore this prize was important because it helps make history “as engaging and accessible” as possible. This award is organised by NUS Department of History as part of national SG50 celebrations;
